Ram is gearing up for a Jurassic showdown as the company has confirmed the highly-anticipated TRX will debut on August 17th at noon EST.
The company is keeping details under wraps, but released a couple of new teaser videos.
The first is called “Places” and it suggests the “performance-focused off-road pickup” will enable you to travel to places where you’d never thought you could go. It also provides an audible tease for the truck’s supercharged engine.

The second teaser video is shorter and lacks a name, but it provides a better look at the upcoming model. In particular, it shows the truck with a sport bar and auxiliary lights.
These items have been missing on prototypes, but they were featured on the 2016 Rebel TRX concept. However, it remains unclear if they’ll be standard equipment or an aftermarket accessory.
Regardless, spy photos have shown the truck will have a rugged front fascia, extended fender flares and meaty off-road tires. We can also expect an off-road focused suspension with additional ground clearance and special shocks.
To spruce up the cabin, designers have added special leather seats with TRX embroidery. There will also be a unique center console with a traditional shifter.
The truck will also have an Easter egg showing a Tyrannosaurus Rex dwarfing a Velociraptor. That’s a swipe at Ford as the F-150 Raptor has a tiny twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 450 hp (336 kW / 456 PS) and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque.
The Ram 1500 TRX, on the other hand, is slated to have a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 707 hp (527 kW / 717 PS) and 645 lb-ft (875 Nm) of torque. In the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, the engine enables the model to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
