The 2021 Hyundai Elantra N Line has just been unveiled and gives the sedan some sporty new looks as well as improved performance.

Powering the Elantra N Line is Hyundai’s familiar 1.6-liter GDI turbocharged engine found in other N Line models and producing 201 hp and 195 lb-ft (265 Nm) of torque. This engine can be coupled to either a six-speed manual transmission or a dual-clutch transmission with power sent exclusively through the front wheels.

According to the South Korean automaker, it has made “several mechanical improvements to Elantra’s suspension to increase stiffness for a gripping performance” but has yet to specify precisely what changes have been made. We do know the sedan benefits from enlarged front brake discs but again, haven’t been provided with information about how much larger they are.

The Hyundai Elantra N Line certainly has quite a striking appearance and incorporates a ‘Parametric Dynamics’ design scheme. Up front, the Elantra’s cascade grille comes complete with an N Line badge. Also catching the eye is new trim around the front air intakes that don’t only look the part but also “support aerodynamic performance and engine cooling”.

Further adding to the looks of the Elantra N Line are sporty side skirts and distinctive 18-inch alloy wheels with a silver and black spoke design. The wing mirrors and the skirts are also finished in gloss black. Styling tweaks continue at the rear with an integrated spoiler, chrome tailpipes, and an N Line rear diffuser.

A host of safety features come standard with the Elantra N Line. These include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning and Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist.

Hyundai has also launched a series of N performance parts to allow owners to further customizer their N Line models. Further details have yet to be announced.

No launch date has been given for the Elantra N in the United States. However, we do know it will be available in Australia from Q4 2020 and sold as the i30 Sedan N Line.
