If the regular Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 is considered a ‘super SUV’, then what would you call one with more power under its hood than a Porsche 918 Spyder? Welcome to Wheelsandmore’s new tuning packages for the Mercedes-AMG GLE in 53, 63 and 63 S forms.
Starting from the most potent upgrade for the GLE 63 and 63 S named ‘Stage 4’, the tune results to an impressive 907 HP (920 PS / 677 kW) and 848 lb-ft (1,150 Nm) of torque from the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, thanks to modified turbos, new engine software and a slew of other upgrades. You will have to shell out €42,016 ($49,470) for this Stage 4 tune, with the company also offering three more options for the 63 and 63 S.

The next one is the €31,092 ($36,608) Stage 3 kit which unleashes 848 HP (860 PS / 632 kW) and 848 lb-ft (1,150 Nm). Stage 2, on the other hand, will cost you €16,806 ($19,787), and frees up 789 HP (800 PS / 588 kW) and 767 lb-ft (1,040 Nm), while also removing the speed limiter, which allows the GLE AMG 63 / S to hit up to 199 mph (320 km/h) when fitted with the appropriate tires.
For the basic Stage 1, you are looking at €2,200 ($2,590), and it promises 690-700 HP (700-710 PS / 515-522 kW) in the regular 63 and 63 S models respectively, along with 701 lb-ft (950 Nm) of peak torque.
As a reminder, the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine steams out 563 HP (571 PS / 420 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) in the regular GLE 63 and 603 HP (612 PS / 450 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) in the GLE 63 S. The former needs 4.0 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill, and the latter 3.8 seconds.
Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4Matic+ also gets a boost
There’s also a little something for the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 that’s pictured here, and which is motivated in stock form by a 435 PS (429 HP) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) mild-hybrid twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six gasoline engine paired to an electric auxiliary compressor. The tuner’s ECU upgrade pushes those numbers to 510 PS (503hp) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) respectively.
Additional offerings
Now, the tuner isn’t called Wheelsandmore for nothing, as they took care of the other aspect too. As a result, those who are not satisfied with the rims offered by Mercedes-AMG can go ahead and order the 10.5×24-inch front and 12.5×24-inch rear wheels shown on the pictured car, shod in 295/30 and 355/25 Vredestein tires respectively. These are offered for both the GLE 53 and GLE 63 / S models.
Wheelsandmore is also working on new parts for the GLE 63, such as the new exhaust system and a smartphone controlled module to lower the air suspension.
Correction: The model pictured here is not the GLE 63 as erroneously mentioned in the original version of this story but the GLE 53, for which we’ve added details in the text.
