Aston Martin has partnered with British distillery Bowmore and launched a limited-edition bottle of single malt scotch whisky.
Dubbed Black Bowmore DB5 1964, the whisky is Bowmore’s finest single malt that was first distilled on November 5, 1964 and has only ever been bottled six times, making it one of the rarest and most sought-after single malt whiskies ever. In fact, just 6,000 bottles of Black Bowmore have been made available since 1993. The DB5 1964 version is ever rarer than that.
A mere 25 bottles will be sold and each uses a real piston from an Aston Martin DB5. These bottles are handcrafted by a contemporary glass studio by the name of Glasstorm, with each bottle taking up to one week to be made.

Each bottle of Black Bowmore DB5 1964 is presented in a handmade box that includes the finest string-grain calfskin as well as a solid brass latch and hinges plated with nickel to pay tribute to the DB5.
“This exciting new association with Bowmore gives us the perfect opportunity to celebrate a vital part of our star-studded history by combining the unrivaled appeal of the iconic DB5 with the cultured flavors of this world-renowned single malt,” Aston Martin Lagonda executive vice president and chief creative officer Marek Reichman said in a statement.
“1964 represents a significant date in the modern history of the distillery,” added Bowmore distillery manager David Turner. “Not only a key moment in how we distilled our spirit, but perhaps even more significant as this very spirit went onto create Black Bowmore. These defining moments are fundamental to the history of Bowmore. This collaboration with Aston Martin has allowed us to once again showcase this iconic single malt in the most incredible way.”
Aston Martin and Bowmore plan on unveiling other collaborative projects and products over the coming months and years.
