Seat wants to promote its Tarraco seven-seater SUV, whose practicality was recently demonstrated in an novel manner.
The Spanish car maker turned to two young golfers, Oriol Martinez and Marina Martinez, who responded to the challenge of filling the boot of the mid-size SUV with as many balls as possible.

The two athletes chose a sand wedge to achieve the height and control required to hit the target. By the time they finished, the Tarraco’s boot, which has a volume of 26.8 cu-ft (760 liters) that’s expandable up to 62.7 cu-ft (1,775 liters) with the rear seats folded down in the seven-seat configuration, or 67.8 cu-ft (1,920 liters) as a five-seater, had over 8,500 golf balls in it below the height of the parcel shelf.
Presented two years ago as Seat’s flagship SUV, the Tarraco is based on the same platform as the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan. It’s assembled in Germany and can be had, depending on the market, with two petrol and two diesel engines, as well as a plug-in hybrid, in front- or all-wheel drive configurations.
In the United Kingdom, the Seat Tarraco is offered in six trim levels, named the SE, SE Technology, FR, FR Sport, XCellence and XCellence Lux. Pricing starts at £29,155 ($38,087) for the entry-level trim and can reach £33,005 ($43,117) for the top spec. By comparison, the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace can be ordered from £26,810 ($35,023) and £32,195 ($42,059) respectively.
