Dutch car maker Spyker announced a collaboration agreement that will apparently allow them to resume operations and launch three new models, starting from 2021.
The Spyker Group has joined forces with motorsport company BR Engineering, SMP Racing, and the Milan Morady marketing company. BR Engineering and SMP Racing are owned by Russian oligarch Boris Rotenberg, while Milan Morady is owned by Rotenberg’s business partner Michail Pessis.
The Dutch company said that this new development will allow them to finally put into production not only the C8 Preliator, which was first revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, but the D8 Peking-to-Paris SUV and the B6 Venator as well. The first new Spyker to enter production will be the C8 Preliator.

Spyker faced major financial difficulties after purchasing Saab from General Motors in 2010, leading to the company declaring bankruptcy. The carmaker returned in 2015, but still had to deal with financial problems.
“There can be no doubt that Spyker has had a few very tough years since the demise of Saab Automobile AB, in 2011,” Spyker said in its statement. “With this new partnership those days are definitely gone and Spyker will become an important player in the super sportscar market segment.”
The reborn Spyker will also operate an after-sales department and service facilities in its new German production plant, catering to the owners of the 265 Spyker road cars built to date. A new ‘Flagship Store’ is also planned to open in Monaco in 2021, followed by more dealerships worldwide.
”The collaboration agreement which we signed today, is the high light of months of our relentless efforts to build a solid Spyker company which disposes of both technical as well as financial means to achieve its business objectives,” Victor R. Muller, Spyker’s Chief Executive Officer, commented. “My gratitude goes out to Boris Rotenberg and Michail Pessis for the trust they both placed in us.”
”We really look forward to becoming a part of this new chapter for the epic Spyker brand,” Boris Rotenberg and Michail Pessis said. “Our group of companies will launch the Spyker brand successfully in the league of the world’s best super sportscars.”
