We do understand the need to tune cars, from improving the aesthetics to giving them a more personal touch.

In some instances, regular models can mix it with supercars and 4x4s can overcome their initial capabilities by coping with way harsher terrains, but there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed and, sadly, this Suzuki Jimny has crossed them big time.

Created by Les83Machines, the renderings depict the tiny Japanese off-roader in an extreme spec, with its belly scraping the ground, extended suspension arms that have pushed the wheels out of their wells and black accents contrasting the bright paint.

Our Review: 2019 Suzuki Jimny Is Impossible Not To Love

The person behind the illustrations is calling it a rat rod, though, given the SUV’s nature, we struggle to find a reason for selecting it other than the fact that it is probably the last model you’d expect to get that treatment.

While in the digital and tuning realms the Jimny is doing quite fine for itself, the model has recently been retired from the UK as Suzuki will only fulfill existing orders. There are reports surrounding an N1 class commercial derivative of the SUV making a comeback, but they have yet to be confirmed, and rumors also spoke of a five-door variant aimed at Asia, which won’t make it to Europe.

So far, the Jimny can still be ordered in mainland Europe, but unless Suzuki decides to launch a new and more modern engine, it could bite the dust altogether – which, given its unique nature, would be very sad indeed.
