Hot on the heels of the new Toyota GR 86 and Subaru BRZ being spied testing, the first life-like renderings of the new sports car are starting to hit the web.
When we caught our first glimpse of the new GR 86 / BRZ in early August, we were struck by how the designers have managed to make it clearly identifiable while still feeling fresh and modern. It also helped that prototypes spotted haven’t been adorned with any thick body cladding to hide the overall shape of the duo.
Using recent spy shots as inspiration, users over at the GR 86 Forum have published a series of renderings of the new Toyota. While it’s impossible to know at this early stage if this is indeed what the new car will look like, the CGIs certainly appear quite accurate based on the prototypes we have seen.

Up front, the car sports a new grille with a black mesh design and supported by a set of cooling ducts for the front brakes. Adding to the eye-catching new looks of the sports car are distinctive headlights that are noticeably softer in their design than the aggressive light units of the outgoing GT 86 / BRZ, as well as Toyota’s other sports car, the Supra.
These renderings also depict the GR 86 with sharp design elements on the side skirts as well as pronounced body lines of the front and rear fenders. While we don’t have any renderings of the rear, spy shots have revealed a new ducktail-type rear spoiler as well as distinctive taillights.
