Having paid a visit to Brabus and Fostla, this 2016 Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet is – if anything else – different and will surely get some stares on the road.
Brabus was responsible for fitting a carbon fiber body kit consisting of the front apron, rear diffuser, boot lid spoiler and emblems, whereas the new grille, with vertical slats, is reminiscent of modern AMGs.

The chrome trim has been blacked out for a stealthier presence and the 21-inch brass wheels give it a Maybach flair. The company was also responsible for giving it custom illuminated door sills, door locking pins, carbon fiber paddle shifters, exclusive floor mats and a few other features, while the wrapping in Olea-Green, with chipping protection, was performed by Fostla.
For such a complex tuning job, one might expect the 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 to have been upgraded too, but that’s not the case, as it still produces 577 HP (585 PS / 430 kW) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. The stock open-top AMG S63 needs less than 4 seconds to sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h), and will max out at an electronically limited 155 mph (250 km/h).
With 13,670 miles (22,000 km) on the odo and head-turning looks, the S63 is for sale on Mobile. It is advertised with a buy-it-now price of €148,000 ($174,392), including tax, and packs a lot of amenities fitted from the factory, including the head-up display, 360-degree camera system, digital radio, premium sound system, Airscarf that blows hot air around the necks of the occupants and many others.
