Fresh off the unveiling of the 2021 Ford Bronco, the American car manufacturer has released a video of its engineers putting the off-roader through its paces along some treacherous trails in Moab, Utah.

This video was uploaded to The Bronco Nation channel on YouTube and shows the Bronco tackling the Poison Spider, Golden Spike, Golden Crack, and Gold Bar Rim trails. This is by far the most hardcore off-roading we have seen the Bronco do and the SUV seems to be just as capable as we had all hoped.

Throughout the clip, a handful of Bronco prototypes climb over unforgiving rocks and make extremely difficult descents. The Broncos also appear to get quite scratched up in certain parts but that’s to be expected with this type of off-roading.

Fortunately, most of the scrapes appear limited to the front bash plate and the side skirts. A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon can also be seen in the background of some of the shots. While an argument can certainly be made that many car manufacturers go overboard with testing their consumer vehicles on high-speed racetracks when buyers will never go anywhere near a track, Ford is completely justified in testing the Bronco on off-road trails of this sort.

While there’s little doubt many customers will primarily drive their Broncos in urban environments and on paved roads, a percentage will take them along trails like these. Additionally, it is important for Ford to ensure the Bronco can do everything a Wrangler can do when the going gets tough.
