Just 99 examples of the 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Coupe were ever manufactured and one was recently listed online at Bring A Trailer. Contrary to what one might have expected, though, it failed to sell.
To our eyes, the Vanquish Zagato Coupe may just be the best-looking car built in the last decade and the example in question was sold new by Motorcars of Georgia in October 2017 with a retail price of $820,000. That’s a serious amount of money for a car that, beneath that sexy bodywork, is a ‘regular’ Vanquish, a car that started at under $300,000 when it was in production.

The listing shows that this particular example is finished in Caribbean Pearl paint, a $6,380 option. It also has a machined aluminum front grille that added a staggering $45,000 to the original price and sports 20-inch black and silver wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires as well as carbon ceramic brake rotors with red brake calipers.
Inside, the Vanquish Zagato Coupe has ‘Dark Knight’ leather upholstery from Bridge of Weir and includes Zagato ‘Z’ stitching on the seats and door panels. Sill plaques confirm this is #83 of the 99 units built.
In recent years, we have become accustomed to rare and desirable cars like these selling for huge premiums on the “used” car market. However, bidding on this Vanquish topped out at $420,000, thus it failed to sell. One Bring A Trailer user speculated that those in the market for a car like this may not visit the online auction website or even be willing to spend this much money on a car they haven’t seen in person, while others believe the interior color combo may have put off potential buyers.
