In just a little over a month from now, BMW M will uncover the new-gen M3 and M4, and beyond the controversial looks, these are expected to be two of the best driver’s cars of the year.
Other than a few things that might change here and there, we have a pretty good idea of what they will look like, thanks to the countless spy shots and a slew of leaks.
Still, our friends at Kolesa have come out with what is perhaps the best digital interpretation of the 2021 M4 yet. Inspired by the exposed pre-production prototype that ended up online two months ago, the illustrations portray it with a different grille pattern and more muscular hood.

Compared to the 4-Series Coupe, the front bumper is more angular and has four wide air intakes on the sides, and a thin apron. The new side steps, black (or is that carbon fiber?) side mirror caps with a more elongated shape, sharp rear bumper, four-fin diffuser with cutouts for the four rounded tailpipes and a small boot lid spoiler, in addition to the lowered sports suspension and model-specific rims, complete the package.
Power will come from the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, making 473 HP (480 PS / 353 kW) in the regular versions of the M3 and M4, and 503 HP (510 PS / 375 kW) in the Competition models. For the first time, both will be available with a rear-wheel drive biased all-wheel drive system, just like the M5, though rear-wheel drive versions will continue to be on offer for purists. The standard rear-wheel-drive models will come with the choice of either a standard 6-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Competition models are believed to be available only with the automatic and xDrive all-wheel drive system.
