An eye-catching 2020 Chevrolet COPO Camaro will cross the auction block later this month and is perfect for an enthusiast wanting to go down to their local drag strip and try to beat anyone and everyone.
This COPO Camaro is finished in a bespoke shade dubbed Hugger Orange and is one of just 69 examples built for the 2020 model year. Complementing the orange paint are black racing stripes running over the hood, roof and tailgate. Although no pre-auction estimate has been made, it should fetch a pretty penny.

Sitting beneath the custom bodywork is a 350 cubic-inch LSX-derived V8 that has LSX-SC cylinder heads and a 2.65-liter Magnuson supercharger. Mated to this engine is a TH400 automatic transmission and a solid rear axle. All up, the V8 is good for 570 hp and even though that is less than flagship, road-legal Challenger, Mustang, and Camaro models, the COPO can storm down the quarter-mile in just 8.5 seconds.
Key in helping the car get off the line with such ferocity are the Hoosier drag radial tires and the wheelie bar. In addition, the COPO Camaro weighs quite a bit less than a road-going example thanks to the stripped-out cabin where unnecessary parts like the rear seats and interior trim have been removed. New lightweight seats have also been fitted.
The Mecum listing doesn’t offer any mileage details, but since the steering wheel is still wrapped in plastic, we suspect the car has yet to make its drag racing debut.
