2021 Honda Passport Now Comes Standard With 8-Inch Infotainment System, Android Auto And Apple CarPlay

The 2021 Honda Passport is arriving at U.S. dealerships and the company has announced pricing will begin at $32,590.

Costing $600 more than last year’s the model, the entry-level Passport Sport joins the 21st century as it now comes standard with an 8-inch Display Audio infotainment system.

It replaces the previous 5-inch display and means customers no longer have to upgrade to the EX-L trim just to get a proper infotainment system. It also means the 2021 Passport now comes standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Besides those minor changes, the Passport Sport comes equipped with LED headlights, rear privacy glass, a passive entry system and 20-inch wheels. Other highlights include a push button ignition, a tri-zone automatic climate control system and a seven speaker audio system with a subwoofer.

The model comes equipped with an assortment of safety features including adaptive cruise control, auto high-beam headlights, a collision mitigation braking system and a multi-angle rearview camera. There’s also forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning and a road departure mitigation system.

Moving up the trim ladder is the Passport EX-L which starts at $36,610. It features a modestly revised exterior with an acoustic glass windshield, a power liftgate and side mirrors with integrated turn signals.

Bigger changes occur inside the cabin as drivers will find power heated front seats, which are wrapped in leather. Other highlights include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a moonroof. There’s also HomeLink, a blind spot information system with rear cross traffic alert, and an upgraded infotainment system with HD Radio, SiriusXM and an SMS text message function.

The $39,480 Passport Touring packs on the amenities as it features a hands-free power liftgate, roof rails and acoustic glass on the side doors. There are also front and rear parking sensors.

Inside, buyers will find LED ambient lighting, GPS navigation and a 10-speaker premium audio system with a subwoofer. Other niceties include heated rear seats, illuminated cup holders and a 115 volt outlet.

The range-topping Passport Elite begins at $43,980 and has rain-sensing wipers as well as a standard all-wheel drive system. The model also boasts a heated leather steering wheel, a wireless smartphone charger and heated / ventilated front seats.

Regardless of which trim is selected, all Passports are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 hp (209 kW / 284 PS) and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission which can be paired to an optional all-wheel drive system.
