The 2021 MINI Cooper S Rosewood Limited Edition Is An A$59,250 Affair In Australia

Shortly after presenting the JCW Nightfall Edition, MINI has launched a new model named the Cooper S Rosewood Edition in Australia.

Available as a three- and five-door hatchback, it is limited to 40 units and starts at AU$59,250 (US$43,198), AU$9,750 (US$7,109) more than the 268 HP Toyota GR Yaris, excluding the AU$9,550 (US$6,963) initial discount.

Finished in the Clubman’s Indian Summer Red Metallic paint, it features piano black elements that have replaced the classic chrome trim, model-specific badging and blacked-out MINI logos. The ‘Rosewood’ entry sills greet users upon opening the doors and, once inside, they will also see the 3D-printed dashboard fascia, leather upholstery and piano black inserts.

The equipment list is very generous and counts the 17-inch Cosmos wheels with run-flat tires, adaptive LED headlights, taillights with Union Jack graphics, panoramic sunroof, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 5-inch digital gauges, navigation, reversing camera, wireless charging pad, smartphone integration, Harman Kardon premium audio and others.

The Rosewood Edition retains the Cooper S’ powertrain, namely a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine that develops 189 HP (192 PS / 141 kW) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that transfers the power to the front axle, a set-up that allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.7 seconds for the three-door and 6.8 seconds for the five-door hatchback. Average fuel consumption is rated at 5.5 and 5.6 l/100 km (42.8/42 mpg US), respectively, and CO2 emissions stand at 125 and 128 g/km.
