Subaru has launched a special version of the Forester in Germany, which is dubbed the Edition Sport40.
Created to celebrate the brand’s 40th anniversary, it’s limited to 468 units and comes from €39,956.60 (equal to $47,246 at today’s exchange rates), including tax, bringing colorful touches inside and out.
Setting it apart from the rest of the lineup are the black radiator grille, fog lamp surrounds and roof rails, contrasted the orange accents. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels finished in Anthracite and can be ordered in the exclusive (for the model) Dark Blue Pearl exterior paint finish.

Orange contrast stitching can be found throughout the entire cockpit, from the leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift lever, to the instrument panel and seats. The air vent surrounds have the same finish and there is a special emblem present too, which reminds occupants that they’re sitting in a limited edition of the Forester.
Based on the mid-spec Comfort, the Forester Edition Sport40 is nicely equipped, with standard two-zone automatic air conditioning, panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable, folding and heated side mirrors, heated steering wheel, 8-inch infotainment system, DAB+ radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation with free updates for three years and reversing camera.
The Eyesight suite of driving aids is on deck, with emergency braking, active lane departure warning, lane change assist, blind spot assist, rear cross traffic assist, drowsiness detection system and others.
Power comes from the mild-hybrid 2.0-liter boxer engine that produces 148 HP (150 PS / 110 kW) and 143 lb-ft (194 Nm) of torque, and works in conjunction with a CVT and all-wheel drive.
