2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing To Feature Racing-Inspired Carbon Fiber Seats

The teaser campaign for the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing continues as the company has announced the model will feature carbon fiber sport seats.

While the image isn’t very revealing, it shows the CTS-V successor will have carbon fiber front seats with a laser-etched V-Series logo on the back of the headrest. We can also see two openings on either side of the headrest with gloss black surrounds.

Cadillac was coy on details, but said the racing-inspired seats feature a “precision book-matched design” as well as “customer-centric innovations and features that will be announced at a later date.” That isn’t much to go on, but the seats should be lightweight and could be offer heating as well as ventilation.

The teaser follows one last month which showed the car’s leather-wrapped sport steering wheel. It has carbon fiber trim, a red center marker, a large V-Mode button and a switch that provides easy access to the Performance Traction Management system.

The same teaser image also showed a digital instrument cluster which hinted at a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h). The display measures 12-inches.and recently debuted the 2021 CT4 and CT5.

Cadillac has been tight-lipped on performance specifications, but the CT5-V Blackwing is expected to use a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine sourced from the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. It produces 650 hp (485 kW / 659 PS) and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque, which would be an increase of 10 hp (7 kW / 10 PS) and 20 lb-ft (27 Nm) over the CTS-V.

Of course, we’ll need to wait a little longer to find out as the CT5-V Blackwing won’t be launched until next summer.
