The Audi R8 could be living on borrowed time, but that hasn’t stopped the company from introducing a special edition called the Green Hell.
While it would be natural to assume the model pays tribute to the Nürburgring, it’s actually designed to highlight the R8 LMS which has claimed five overall victories at the 24 Hours Nürburgring since 2012.
The special edition draws inspiration from the #1 R8 LMS used by Audi Sport Team Phoenix and features a dark green exterior. However, customers can also order Ibis White, Daytona Gray or Mythos Black.

Regardless of which color is selected, the model has matte black accents on the hood, roof and A-pillars. There are also matte black mirrors, side skirts and a rear diffuser.
Other highlights including 20-inch matte black wheels with red accents. Buyers will also find gloss black “Green Hell R8” logos on the sideblades and windshield banner.
Moving into the cabin, there are lightweight bucket seats wrapped in Alcantara upholstery. A closer inspection reveals blue-green contrast stitching, special floor mats and a leather / Alcantara steering wheel with a red marker at 12 o’clock.
Motivation comes from a mid-mounted 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 612 hp (456 kW / 620 PS). It is connected to a seven-speed S tronic transmission which sends power to a quattro all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.1 seconds, before hitting a top speed of up to 206 mph (331 km/h).
Production will be limited to 50 units globally and German pricing starts at €233,949.59.
