BMW has already confirmed the redesigned M3 and M4 will be unveiled later this month, but now the company’s Australian arm has stated the “speculation ends September 23.”

While they didn’t give an exact time for the unveilings, BMW Australia did release new teaser images of the M3.

They show the model will follow in the footsteps of the 4-Series Coupe and adopt a massive grille which is flanked by large air intakes with honeycomb inserts. We can also see stylish headlights, a bulging hood and a metallic green paint job.

The pictures aren’t very revealing, but previous spy photos have shown the sedan will have aerodynamic mirrors, sportier side skirts and an aggressive rear end. The latter features a sportier bumper, a trunk-mounted spoiler and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

The models are slated to be powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine sourced from the X3 M and X4 M. It will have outputs of 473 hp (352 kW / 480 PS) and 503 hp (375 kW / 510 PS).

Besides being more powerful, the redesigned models will be offered with a new all-wheel drive system. To keep the purists happy, there will also be rear-wheel drive variants with a six-speed manual transmission.

Of course, there are other M models in the works and BMW has already confirmed the M4 Convertible will be introduced sometime next year. It will be followed by the all-new M3 Touring, which is slated for 2022 as the company has previously said the wagon is in the early stages of its two year long development process.
