Classic Restorations and Shelby American has announced a limited production run of its Shelby GT500CR Carbon Edition.
Each of the 25 examples set to be built are clad in custom carbon fiber body panels created by SpeedKore. The special Shelby model also includes 18-inch wheels at all four corners that are wrapped in Michelin 225/40 tires up front and 315/30 tires at the rear. The exterior also includes triple racing stripes, sequential taillights, and a Le Mans-style gas cap.

Beneath the skin, the Coyote V8 engine is topped with a massive Whipple supercharger and now pumps out 810 HP. Mated to this engine is a Tremec six-speed manual transmission with a 3:70 gear ratio that sends power to the wheels through a 9-inch rear end. The GT500CR also features Vaporworx twin electric fuel pumps, Magnaflow mufflers, dual 2.5-inch exhaust, BeCool aluminum crossflow radiator, Stainless Works long tube headers, and a pair of 13-inch electric cooling fans.
Other performance modifications made to the car include Wilwood six-piston front brakes and four-piston rear brakes biting down on slotted, cross-drilled, and zinc washed brake discs. There are also adjustable front and rear coilovers, oversized front and rear sway bars, and a powered rack and pinion steering conversion.
The custom touches continue in the cabin where each and every GT500CR bound for the road includes Carroll Shelby Scat Rally Series 1000 seats, 5-point seatbelts, Carroll Shelby signature white gauges, a leather-wrapped aluminum steering wheel, Carroll Shelby GT500CR floormats, and a host of Alcantara accents.
