The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is shaping up to be quite the weapon and over the previous weekend, a pair of prototypes made an unexpected appearance at a car meet in Michigan.

The two CT5-V Blackwings showed up to the High Octane Café & Bakery near Detroit and videos show the duo wearing some black and white camouflage across their front and rear fascias. The clip also provides us with an excellent chance to hear the super sedan in full flight.

After briefly cruising through the car meet, the two prototypes accelerated away from the gathering and there’s no doubt that under the skin, the two are packing supercharged V8 engines. Not only do they sound good but they also appear to be very fast.

It is understood that the supercharged V8 to be used by the CT5-V Blackwing will be the same 6.2-liter unit as the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. While it is possible Cadillac will tweak this engine to its specific needs, even if it leaves the power unit untouched, it will be good for at least 650 hp and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque. That will give the car a handy power advantage over European rivals like the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S and BMW M5 Competition that both deliver around 600 hp.

In August, Cadillac teased the steering wheel that will be used in the CT5-V Blackwing as well as the smaller and less powerful CT4-V Blackwing. The wheel includes a red stripe at 12 o’clock and also includes carbon fiber accents and a large V-mode button. There is also a button that provides access to the Performance Traction Management system.
