Ram introduced the 1500 TRX last month and now Hennessey has revealed plans to strip it of its keynote feature – a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 702 hp (523 kW / 712 PS) and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque.
While that sounds insane, the company will replace the V8 with a specially tuned version of the Hellephant crate engine. The supercharged 7.0-liter V8 normally produces 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS), but Hennessey’s version will deliver more than 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1,217 PS).
The Hellephant won’t be the only change as the truck will also be given a 6×6 conversion just like the VelociRaptor 6×6. As part of the makeover, the model will be equipped with six-wheel drive as well as an all-new bed which has been lengthened and features massive wheel openings.

The company will also install beefier bumpers, an upgraded off-road suspension and LED lights. The model will also be given a bespoke interior, but there’s no word on specifics at this point.
Production will be limited to three units and pricing will start at $500,000 (£373,787 / €419,892) which includes the base Ram 1500 TRX. The company will begin accepting orders on September 4th at noon central time and it appears Hennessey is expecting the truck to sell out almost instantly.
While the truck is insane, John Hennessey admitted as much as he said “[A] Mammoth 6×6 powered by a 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1,217 PS) Hellephant motor is just a completely ridiculous idea, which is exactly why we are doing this.” He added, “We are only going to build three examples which will likely make this the most exclusive and most expensive truck we’ve ever built.”
