Hyundai has previewed the facelifted 2021 i30 N that will be available with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission for the first time.
In teaser images shared online by the South Korean automaker, we’re provided with our first look at the refined body. Like the rest of the facelifted i30 range, the new N model’s front fascia will be more aggressive with an enlarged grille, angular air intakes, and rounded out by new headlights with LED daytime running lights.

Elsewhere, we can see the facelifted i30 N will be equipped with a set of new 19-inch forged wheels that help to save 14 kg (30.8 lbs) of unsprung weight over the outgoing i30 N. Spin around to the rear and we can see new taillights, enlarged tailpipes, and an aggressive new diffuser.
The big news related to the updated i30 N is the fact that it will be available with a wet eight-speed dual-clutch transmission already available on the 2021 Veloster N. This transmission features a handful of modes aimed at making it all the more enjoyable to driver. For example, there is an ‘N Grin Shift’ mode that increases peak torque from 260 lb-ft to 278 lb-ft through a turbocharger overboost setting. The transmission also as an ‘N Power Shift’ mode that is engaged when the vehicle accelerates with more than 90 per cent throttle.
The new i30 N will continue to be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing up to 271 hp. Hyundai has yet to reveal if the entry-level 246 hp variant will continue to be offered in select markets.
