A couple of months after Kia showcased three K5 sedans performing a ‘Triple Threat Stunt,’ the Korean automaker has returned with an even more ambitious stunt.
This saw the K5 perform a 360-degree jump between two ramps and, despite a very hard landing, the car is able to be driven away from the scene. From the outside, this looks like a normal, road-going K5 but it does feature a stripped-out cabin with a roll cage and racing seats. It’s possible that some serious chassis and suspension modifications were also made to ensure the Kia wasn’t destroyed in the stunt.

Of course, no one who is going to buy a K5 is going to perform something like this. However, with the video, Kia will be hoping to attract lots of attention to its sleek new sedan in a bid to drum up sales. It sure worked with August’s ‘Triple Threat Stunt’, as it has generated 3.1 million views on YouTube in the past five weeks.
While recently speaking about the K5’s promotional campaign, Kia Motors America’s director of marketing operations Russell Wager said: “The all-new K5 is a completely new direction for Kia and the midsize sedan category overall, so we needed a marketing campaign that was as dynamic and action-packed as the vehicle itself.”
Two variants of the Kia K5 are offered in the United States. The entry-level version is rocking a 1.6-liter four-cylinder producing 180 hp and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque, while those after some added performance can opt for the K5 GT with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder delivering 290 hp and 311 lb-ft (421 Nm) of torque.
