This first-generation Audi A5 Coupe arrived at DreamWraps in Newport, Kentucky with catastrophic damage to its bodywork.
The car was initially plasti-dipped, then covered in paint stripper and left for days underneath a tarp. Ultimately, it was plasti-dipped again in an attempt to cover up the damage. It’s no wonder DreamWraps called this “Project Nightmare” before attempting to salvage the exterior.
The shop took to Facebook to post their progress, while making it clear that they wouldn’t be taking this job way too seriously – they even chose to “fix” the hardened melted mix of paint stripper from the taillights using machine sanding and a gloss dark tint wrap, instead of buying new taillights.

Since the paint stripper chewed all the way down to the metal, the company had to use a low grit sander in order to smooth everything out. With a little more prep time, the car was eventually ready to be wrapped again – and can see direct comparison images below.
“The far from perfect final result of our attempt to salvage this Audi that was brought to us completely and absolutely ruined beyond something we have ever seen. Client requested famous outlines of racetracks embossed under Matte Blue and Carbon Fiber accents to further help hide the permanent damage underneath. Hope you all got a laugh out of this ridiculous transformation job that we did.”

For some reason we don’t really feel like laughing here, as a car with a ruined exterior is not exactly funny. As for the final wrap, let’s just say it’s nothing to write home about, but at least it covers that hot mess.
