Known for its muscle car builds, Wisconsin-based Ringbrothers completed its first SUV in October 2018.

At that year’s SEMA show, the custom car builder unveiled an LS3-powered 1971 Chevrolet K5 Blazer that proved to be a hit with customers. Since then, Ringbrothers has built several K5 Blazers, with the latest one going to Atlanta-based rapper Future.

Ringbrothers recently completed and delivered a fully customized, LS-powered K5 Blazer commissioned by the musician. The 1971 model is finished in a custom BASF British Racing Green paint and has its body refinished with 3M products and enhanced by custom parts made by Ringbrothers, including the carbon fiber hood and tailgate with integrated seating. Rounding out the exterior tweaks is a set of gold 18-inch HRE wheels.

In the cabin, Future’s K5 Blazer sports a custom tan treatment by Upholstery Unlimited with several Ringbrothers touches, including a glove box door, hood hinges, and a dash gauge bezel. Unsurprisingly for a hip-hop star, the K5 Blazer also packs a JL Audio sound system.

The classic SUV’s transformation continues under the hood where Ringbrothers fitted a 430-horsepower, 6.2-liter LS3 engine mated to a 4L80-E transmission. The exhaust is provided by Flowmaster, with the engine using Motul oil and Prestone coolant.

“We first started building Blazers a few years back, and they’ve really taken off in popularity since then,” said Ringbrothers co-owner Jim Ring. “There is no assembly line at our shop, as each build is completed by hand, bespoke to the owner’s request. There is no other Blazer in the world like this one.”

“We’re humbled that people continue to come to us for special projects like this,” added company co-owner Mike Ring. “We realize that our customers could get a new Ferrari or Lamborghini but choose us instead. It’s an honor we don’t take lightly, so we put our heart into each project. We’re glad Future appreciates that.”
