Knight International is best known for selling rare hypercars and build slots, but they’ve apparently decided to try their luck with car production.
Their first model will be called the Knight Vision R and it aims to combine the looks of classic racing cars from the 1960’s with the “highest standards” of today.
The car is heavily influenced by the AC / Shelby Cobra, but features a carbon fiber body with a modern rollover protection system. We can also see a carbon fiber front splitter, ventilated front fenders and air intakes ahead of the rear wheels. The company also said the model will have a titanium exhaust, a tonneau cover and center-locking carbon fiber wheels that are backed up by a carbon ceramic braking system.

Knight didn’t release interior pictures, but said the Vision R will have carbon fiber Recaro sport seats, a “full multimedia suite” and a “digital gauge cluster augmented reality carbon fiber helmet integration.” The latter is a bit confusing, but it sounds like vehicle information will be projected into a driver’s field of view when they wear a special helmet.
Power is slated to come from a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine that produces 760 hp (567 kW / 771 PS) and turns the rear wheels. It will be apparently be joined by two electric motors which produce 350 hp (261 kW / 355 PS) and power the front wheels. This would presumably give the car all-wheel drive and a combined output of 1,110 hp (828 kW / 1,125 PS).
Little else is known about the model at this point, but it’s slated to have a lithium-ion battery pack, a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension and a curb weight of less than 2,000 lbs (907 kg).
Assuming everything works out, production will be limited to 500 units and pricing would start around $500,000 – $600,000 (£376,236 – £451,484 / €422,368 – €506,842). However, there’s no word on when production would begin and it seems like the company is still seeking feedback on the model.
