All examples of the Porsche 918 Spyder are special – and this one that’s for sale from Atlantis Motor Group in Florida certainly is eye-catching.

For starters, this 918 Spyder has been ordered with the Weissach package. In addition to magnesium wheels, the Weissach package allowed customers to create special exterior liveries. This particular car is finished in matte black with the number 22 and Martini logos. It’s worth noting that the exterior liveries were wrapped from the factory, not painted, and beneath the wrap is actually a Basalt Black paint.

Adding to the unique appeal of this car is the fact that the interior, in particular the seats, are clad in Nomex. This is a flame-resistant material developed in the early 1960s and is the same material used in the suits that firefighters wear.

The listing reveals that this is number 738 out of the 918 examples produced. It has just 2,900 miles (4,667 km) on the clock and an asking price of $1.29 million.

Like all 918 Spyders, this one is powered by an advanced hybrid powertrain that combines a naturally-aspirated 4.6-liter V8 engine with two electric motors. The internal combustion engine puts out 599 hp at 8,700 rpm and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque at 6,700 rpm.

Moreover, there is one electric motor at the rear axle and one at the front. The one at the rear delivers 154 hp while the one up front offers up 127 hp. All up, the 918 Spyder’s hybrid powertrain is good for 875 hp and 944 lb-ft (1,280 Nm) of torque.

Update: We were contacted by The Brumos Collection’s Executive Director, Mr. Brandon Starks, who told us that the Porsche 918 Spyder in question was not owned by Hurley Haywood, as claimed by the dealership. Instead, according to Mr. Starks, Mr. Haywood ordered car #259, which currently belongs to the Brumos Collection.
