A Porsche 935 driven by Jeff Zwart at last weekend’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb proved to be one of the most striking vehicles competing in the event. It was also one of the fastest.

Zwart was loaned the 935 by prolific collector Bob Ingram and it was adorned with a special white and red livery for the event. With just 77 units built, we imagine driving it inches away from steep drop-offs would have been a nerve-racking experience.

The Porsche 935 recorded a time of 9:43.92. That meant it finished second in the Time Attack 1 class and fifth overall.

The fastest Porsche up the hill climb was a 911 GT2 RS driven by David Donner with a time of 9:36.559, placing him first in the Time Attack 1 class and third overall.

“It was an incredible week driving the 935 but race day is a different thing. You have to lay it on the line,” Zwart said after his run.

“I knew I hadn’t driven the first sector committed enough. I knew I had lost quite a bit of time so I kept pushing harder. The car kept feeling better and better. At the top, I pushed super, super hard and we set the fastest overall time on the day in the final sector. We came up short on time but we got a podium and top-five overall. It was a special day to have two Porsche in the top-five.”
