Skoda will enter the electric SUV arena for the first time with the Enyaq iV, which will be officially unveiled today, at 12:40pm EST (06:40pm CET) – unofficially, European websites let the cat out of the bag earlier today giving us our fist look at the car.

The Volkswagen ID.4’s Czech cousin is based on the versatile MEB platform, and will launch in rear- and all-wheel drive configurations, with three battery sizes and fast-charging capability that will drop the 10-80% charging time to 40 minutes.

The Enyaq iV 80 will feature a 210 HP (204 PS / 150 kW) motor and an 82 kWh battery that will allow it to travel for up to 310 miles (500 km) on a single charge.

Those interested in the all-wheel drive electric SUV will have to choose between the 80X and RS versions, which pack a second electric motor mounted on the front axle, for a total output of 262 HP (265 PS / 195 kW) and 302 HP (306 PS / 225 kW) respectively. The Enyaq iV RS will accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.2 seconds before maxing out at 112 mph (180 km/h). Both the RS and 80X will have a 286-mile (460-km) driving range.

Similar in size to Skoda’s flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, the Enyaq iV will offer 20.6 cu-ft (585 lt) of cargo volume and the latest technology gear inside, including the 13-inch infotainment system, digital gauges, head-up display with augmented reality functions and permanent internet connection, in addition to a selection of sustainable materials.
