What you’re looking at is a forthcoming variant of the Porsche 911 from the carmaker’s GT division but limited details about it are known.
We stumbled across this teaser image while browsing the Bring A Trailer auction site. The teaser is being used for the auction of a built slot for the new Porsche GT model as part of the Petersen Automotive Museum’s annual fundraising gala.
According to the listing, “this vehicle is the product of years of testing and work by their [Porsche’s] Weissach engineers to bring this car from the track to the streets.” The listing adds that the new model will be announced in late January 2021.

Based on the side profile of the car, it is obvious that it is a variant of the Porsche 911. Key design details that stand out include large side air intakes and a rear spoiler, two parts that the latest 911 Turbo and Turbo S have. Other than those parts, nothing in particular about the car stands out.
Just what are we looking at? It’s hard to say. It is no secret that Porsche is developing new 911 GT3, GT3 Touring, and GT3 RS models but prototypes of these three vehicles have not featured the large side air intakes of the Turbo twins, suggesting this could be something else.
The Bring A Trailer listing adds that all proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the Petersen Automotive Museum’s annual education programs, restoration efforts, and strategic initiatives. The winner will secure an allocation for the car, not the car itself.
