The Honda Civic Sedan received several styling, interior trim and technology updates for the 2019MY, so it’s little surprise that the 2021 model carries over unchanged.
As with the 2021 Accord, there is one important thing the Civic Sedan loses and that’s the manual gearbox option. Previously offered on the LX and Sport trim levels, the six-speed manual is gone for good, with all 2021 Civic Sedan grades offering a CVT as the only transmission available.

Apart from ditching the manual gearbox, Honda has also increased prices for the new model year, despite the fact that it made no changes to its compact model. The base 2021 Civic Sedan LX starts at $21,050, which means it’s $500 more expensive than the equivalent 2020 model. The price increases continue with the Sport (+$600), EX (+$500) and Touring (+$500). The only 2021 Civic Sedan that’s cheaper to buy than last year is the EX-L, which has a $500 lower MSRP.
The engine lineup remains the same, with the base choice being a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four cylinder making 158 HP (160 PS) and 138 lb-ft (187 Nm) of torque. EX models and above get a 1.5-liter turbo-four that delivers 174 HP (176 PS) and 162 lb-ft (219 Nm) of torque.
Finally, fans of the stick shift can still get a 2021 Civic Hatchback with the manual ‘box if they choose the Sport or Sport Touring trim level. The Civic Hatchback Sport retails for $23,100, while the better-equipped Sport Touring will set you back $28,400.
Note: All prices exclude a $995 destination and handling charge
