Renault has refreshed the Megane lineup in spring this year with the exception of the four-door sedan, which has carried on unchanged.
Now, the French automaker has applied the updates to the Megane Sedan as well. As with the Megane hatch and estate, the design changes are very subtle. On the outside, the 2021 Megane Sedan gains all-LED lights, with the C-shaped head and taillights featuring new signatures.

At the front, the facelifted Megane Sedan sports a new bumper and grille incorporating chrome elements, while air deflectors are placed at the front of the wheel arches for improved aerodynamics. Seen from the side, the only visible differences are the new wheels (16 to 18 inches) and door handle lighting. Out back, updates are limited to the new LED taillight signature and fake exhaust trims.

The upgrades made to the interior are more significant and include a digital instrument panel up to 10.2 inches wide which integrates GPS navigation. Depending on the trim level, the dashboard also incorporates a new 9.3-inch multimedia screen in a portrait layout. It’s powered by the new Renault Easy Link connected multimedia system that offers voice recognition, navigation with Google address search, fuel prices and real-time traffic information, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
To improve ergonomics, Renault also grouped together the driving aid controls on the steering wheel and made the console controls, such as the temperature display, more accessible. Also new inside are the electrochromic borderless rearview mirror, chrome finishes on the air conditioning controls and new upholstery. Finally, the driver now has an electrically adjustable seat for a more comfortable driving position.
Renault has made changes to the Multi-Sense driving mode selector as well, with new features including improved ergonomics for greater intuitiveness and simplified settings, new ambient colors, and the R-Sound application for engine sound. Depending on the engine, there are four driving modes available: Eco, Comfort, Sport and MySense.
There’s a new 115 PS 1.0 TCe turbocharged three-pot available, but no E-Tech PHEV
The engine lineup sees the addition of the 1.0 TCe turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that’s rated at 115 PS (113 HP) and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The range also includes the 1.3-liter TCe with 140 PS (138 HP) version coupled to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed EDC dual-clutch transmission. The only diesel engine on offer is the 115 PS (113 HP) 1.5-liter Blue dCi. It too is available with a choice of 6-speed manual and 7-speed EDC dual-clutch transmissions. There’s no mention of E-Tech plug-in hybrid powertrain, though.
On the safety front, the 2021 Megane Sedan gains new driving aids including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, Active Emergency Braking System with pedestrian detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and improved Auto-Hold function of the electronic parking brake.
Renault will continue to build the Megane Sedan in Turkey and export it to almost 30 countries from the beginning of 2021. The markets are located mostly in Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
