2021 VW Tiguan Launches In The UK, Starts At £24,915

VW has released the first pricing details of the 2021 Tiguan in the UK as the order books are now open.

The facelifted Tiguan is also more affordable, with prices starting from £24,915, which is £545 lower than its outgoing equivalent.

The entry-level version of the 2021 Tiguan is equipped with a 128 HP 1.5-liter TSI engine coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. The base Tiguan is capable of a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 10.9 seconds and can return a combined 44.8 mpg UK on the WTLP cycle.

Standard equipment of the base model includes 17-inch ‘Montana’ alloy wheels, LED headlights, the new eight-inch MIB3 infotainment system, Lane Assist, Front Assist, a multifunction front-facing camera, and more.

Next up in the UK range, we get the Tiguan Life, which is available with both the 128 HP and 148 HP versions of the 1.5-liter TSI, and the 148 HP 2.0-liter TDI diesel. Standard equipment includes 18-inch ‘Frankfurt’ alloy wheels, roof rails, rear tinted glass, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, front comfort seats with lumbar support, and a three-zone climate control system, among other. Prices for the Tiguan Life start from £26,915.

The range concludes with two separate range-topping models, with the Elegance focusing on comfort and luxury and the R-Line being the sportier model of the lineup. Customers will be able to choose between the 148 HP 1.5-liter TSI and the 2.0-liter TDI with either 148 HP or 197 HP. All engines in this trim levels are paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The more powerful 2.0-liter TDI with the 197 HP is also paired with VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive, a feature that’s optional in the 148 HP TDI variant.

The new Tiguan Elegance is fitted with 19-inch ‘Auckland’ dark graphite alloy wheels, matrix LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, chrome trim around the windows, 30-color ambient lighting, heated front seats and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

The R-Line comes with 20-inch ‘Misano’ alloy wheels, a lowered sports suspension, model-specific R-style bumpers and rear roof spoiler, LED ‘Plus’ headlights, a sports steering wheel, heated front seats, and Travel Assist, among others.

The biggest visual difference of the updated German compact SUV is the redesigned front end, which features a new wider grille, bringing it in line with the larger Touareg and Atlas SUVs, and new LED headlights. The taillights have also gained a new lighting signature, while the interior benefits from a new steering wheel and updated MIB3 infotainment.
