Audi is launching the plug-in hybrid variant of the Q8, which is available in two versions and offers up to 29 miles (47 km) of EV range, in select European markets.
Both the Q8 55 TFSIe Quattro and the 60 TFSIe Quattro use Audi’s 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine paired to an electric motor that’s integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission.
Audi has now opened the order books for the new Q8 55 TFSIe and 60 TFSIe, with prices starting from €75,351 in Germany and from £73,860 in the UK.

The 55 TFSIe Quattro offers a combined 375 HP (381 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm), with the more powerful 60 TFSIe Quattro packing 455 HP (462 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque.
Both models can reach a top speed of 84 mph (135 km/h) in pure EV mode and retain the mechanical Quattro all-wheel-drive system unchanged over their ICE-powered siblings. The 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint is a matter of 5.8 seconds in the case of the 55 TFSIe and 5.4 seconds for the more powerful 60 TFSIe, with top speed set at 150 mph (240 km/h) in both cases.
The hybrid system features a liquid-cooled 17.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, which is installed under the luggage compartment. In addition to the EV, Hybrid and Auto driving modes, the plug-in hybrid Audi Q8 also features a Hold mode, which saves the battery’s state of charge for use at a later point, and Charge, which charges the battery as fully as possible while driving, taking advantage of the system’s strong recuperation power which can reach up to 80 kW under braking.
Charging the battery of the new Audi Q8 TFSIe can take as little as two-and-half hours at the maximum charging capacity of up to 7.4 kW.
