Audi is launching the facelifted Q2, which received mild styling revisions and new tech features to continue its successful career in Europe.

The design changes of the facelift are pretty minimal, with Audi redesigning the front and rear bumpers of the updated Q2 and giving the option of Matrix LED headlights in addition to the standard LED units.

The color palette of the new Audi Q2 has also been updated with five new options: Apple Green, Manhattan Gray, Navarra Blue, Arrow Gray, and Turbo Blue. The ‘blades’ on the C-pillars can be finished in either body color, or in black, gray, and silver, in addition to a genuine carbon finish, which is optionally available for the first time.

Changes inside the cabin are also minimal, focusing more on details like the new shape of the gear lever on both the manual and DSG transmissions and of the round air vents, as well as the new fabric materials on the seats and door cards. Audi will offer seven interior packages to customers of the new Q2, with four of them attached to the basic interior and the rest three going to the S-Line models. There’s also a new ambient lighting package, which is offered as an option and features the choice between 10 colors.

The revised Audi Q2 is still using Audi’s last-gen MMI infotainment system, which in its top ‘Navigation Plus’ form comes with an LTE module to enable connected services, like Google Earth maps, online traffic info, and other. The system uses an 8.3-inch screen and is operated by a rotary pushbutton or through a natural-language voice control system. Go for one of the more expensive trim levels and you’ll also get Audi’s 12.3-inch virtual cockpit instead of the classic instrument cluster.

Audi’s smallest SUV model comes with the progressive steering system as standard, as well as the Pre Sense front safety system. Customers can opt for the ‘Drive’, ‘Park’, and ‘Safety’ bundles to add more active safety systems that include an adaptive cruise control that works together with a lane assist system up to 130 mph (210 km/h).

The engine range will eventually include three petrol and two diesel units but only the 148 HP 2.0-liter TDI engine will be available with Quattro all-wheel-drive.

As with every new Audi model, the facelifted Q2 will be initially available in a special ‘Edition One’ model. The Audi Q2 ‘Edition One’ is finished in either Apple Green or Arrow Gray and features S-Line bumpers, a roof spoiler, black mirror caps, 19-inch Audi Sport wheels, Matrix LED headlights and a sport suspension. The special ‘Edition One’ model, which is based on the Q2 S-Line, is also getting a black headliner, leather seats with rock gray contrasting stitching, stainless steel pedals, and more.

Prices for the facelifted Audi Q2 start from around 25,000 euros ($29,650 in current exchange rates) in its home market in Germany for models fitted with the 1.0-liter TFSI petrol engine.
