Say what you want about those huge nostrils, but the new-gen BMW M3 and M4 Coupe have all the right ingredients to be proper driver’s cars, and the German automaker took advantage of their dynamics to come up with an exciting video.
Shot on a closed course at a deserted port with professional drivers at the wheel of both vehicles, it shows them engage in a friendly battle that has it all: U-turns, straight-line accelerations and drifting.

Even the port security was present, although they did not engage in the BMW M family feud, because they were busy checking them out online and hoping “to seem them in real life” – well, drop your phone, buddy, and look up!
For the promo, the German firm chose the base M3 Sedan, which has 473 HP (479 PS / 352 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque to play with. The twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six works in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. In this case, you are looking at just a little over 4 seconds for the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint, and a 180 mph (290 km/h) top speed with the optional M Driver’s Package.
The M4 Coupe is in the Competition variant, which uses the same engine, albeit with more power, 503 HP (510 PS / 375 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm), hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission and the M-tuned rear-biased xDrive all-wheel drive system. Due to the different configuration, the Competition models are quicker to 60 mph, needing only 3.8 seconds, but share the same top speed.
