You don’t have to be a designer in order to appreciate a topless, windshield-less speedster (small screens don’t count), and you certainly don’t need to be Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Gordon Ramsay in order to want to get behind the wheel of one.
Both Ibrahimovic and Ramsay own a Ferrari Monza SP2, one of the most beautiful automobiles on Earth right now. McLaren has launched its own speedster, the Elva, while Lamborghini is readying a similar model that was teased only last week wearing the same body wrap used to tease the Essenza SCV12.

Bugatti, on the other hand, well, they’re not making a speedster any time soon, so this design by Alessio Minchella is just an exercise that was brought to “life” through 3D modeling by concept artist Luigi Memola, who worked on the project alongside Minchella.
The concept is called the Type 251 Evo, and it’s based on a Bugatti Chiron, although some of its features were inspired by the 1955 classic Type 251 race car.
Now, even though this is just a design exercise, technical bits like the wheelbase, seat position and dimension, steering wheel, wheel size, track and even the rear wing springs and mounts were all kept exactly the same as on the Chiron.
There were multiple goals attached to this project, such as designing something that would weigh less than the Chiron (meaning more fun to drive), while still being recognizable as a Bugatti despite not having a singleframe grille and missing the brand’s “C” design element on the profile.
Finally, the Type 251 Evo has been rendered both as a street-legal car and a racer, and as a dual- and a single-seater, and we think it looks pretty good in any configuration.
