The Lexus LC 500 Coupe and Convertible were recently updated for the 2021 model year in the U.S. and Europe, and Autogefühl had the opportunity to test both.
Visually, very few changes have been made, apart from the availability of new 21-inch forged alloy wheels. However, it’s no bad thing that Lexus didn’t mess with the design, as the LC Coupe and Convertible are among the most beautiful cars currently on sale.

European buyers can order the 2021 LC 500 Coupe with Sport Pack and Sport+ Pack options, while the LC 500 Convertible can also be purchased with a Sport Pack. In addition to these options, as well as the aforementioned 21-inch forged wheels, customers can opt for semi-aniline leather upholstery that comes with neck heaters in the open-top model, a color head-up display, a Mark Levinson premium sound system and a handful of special metallic paint finishes including Sonic Red, Sonic Titanium, Sonic Silver and Naples Yellow.
Lexus also updated the car’s suspension with new stabilizers, various aluminum components, high-strength coil springs and lighter rear wheels, resulting in a 22 lbs (10 kg) reduction in unsprung weight, something that should improve handling dynamics.
Approximately half of this review discusses the interior and exterior designs of both the LC 500 Coupe and LC 500 Convertible. The second half focuses on the driving experience offered up by the Convertible, where the reviewer got caught out in a downpour with the roof down but clearly enjoyed driving the rear-wheel drive grand tourer.
