When it comes to classic American muscle cars, few are as iconic as the Plymouth Superbird.
Defined by the long nose, big front and rear overhangs and that huge wing at the back, it remains as special as ever, with the best examples out there fetching six figures.
The bid on this one, at the time of writing, was $102,000, and with 16 days left in the online auction on AutoHunter, which ends on October 19, there’s enough time to check those finances.

Produced in November 1969 and purchased by the vendor three years ago from the previous owner who bought it in 1980, it underwent a full restoration, being finished in the correct FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow shade and wearing 15-inch Rallye wheels wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas tires.
The interior has been re-done in black leather and features an original-style radio and lockable glove compartment. The five-digit odometer reads around 39,000 miles (62,765 km), out of which approximately 20 miles (32 km) are said to have been added by the latest owner over the last three years.
The original engine block that came with the car was replaced, and the V8, which had a four-barrel carburetor, now boasts a Six-Pack 3×2 set-up, as well as aluminum heads and a stroker crankshaft that has increased displacement from 440 to 505ci. Power is channeled to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
This Superbird presents itself in superb condition, as highlighted by the images shared in the gallery, and would make for a nice addition to any garage. The question is, would you be willing to spend a considerable amount of cash for it?
