Dacia unveiled the Spring Electric city car last week but the Renault-owned carmaker failed to release the pricing, which will arguably be its main USP.
Fortunately for those who are anxious to learn the prices, Dacia Hungary has already released them on its customer website and we have to say they are consistent with reports from recent months and the pricing of the Renault City K-ZE sister car sold in China.
In Hungary, the Dacia Spring Electric will launch with a price of HUF 6,490,000 (€17,770 or $20,970) for the first 100 units sold in the pre-order campaign. With the state subsidies factored in, the tiny EV can be had for just 3,990,000 Hungarian Forints, or €10,925 ($12,890).

As expected, the first 100 copies of the Dacia Spring Electric have already been spoken for in Hungary. Mind you, the automaker is still accepting pre-orders for a deposit of HUF 100,000 (€275 / $325). Reservation holders will secure an early build spot in case additional production capacity is opened or a previous pre-order is canceled.
It is unclear whether that’s the price of the base Dacia Spring Electric or a launch model; it’s well known that launch editions are typically better equipped and more expensive than standard models. One should also take into account that the pricing won’t be identical across the European Union, as member states have different taxation and EV subsidy policies.
Nevertheless, paying just under €11,000 for a brand new electric vehicle is unheard of in Europe and should make the Dacia Spring Electric a hit in the region. Obviously, the EV is much cheaper in its home market of China, where the Renault City K-ZE starts at RMB 61,800, the equivalent of $9,250 or €7,830.
