The first-generation of Ford F-1 pickup has many fans, but this particular example is, well, strange – to put it mildly.

Currently listed up for sale with an asking price of $27,995, this is a 1948 Ford F-1 that has been fitted with a number of modifications. These bizarre alterations start at the front, which sports the fascia of a much more modern F-Series that is at odd with the bulging bodywork of the 1948 model. Included in this new front end are different headlights, a new grille and a bespoke chrome bumper.

Elsewhere, the owner has equipped the pickup with a set of 17-inch aftermarket alloy wheels with gloss black and chrome spokes. Other exterior modifications include shaved door handles, bespoke taillights and a custom shade of blue that further adds to the unique looks. Moreover, the truck has even been equipped with remote door openers.

Customizations continue in the cabin, as the listing reveals. Most notable is “marine-grade” vinyl across the seats and the lower portions of the door panels. There are also microsuede inserts found throughout as well as black carpeting. Also found within are power windows, an AM/FM/CD stereo and a revived air conditioning system. The owner has also equipped the truck with a nice three-spoke steering wheel. While the exterior is not exactly tasteful, we’re rather fond of the cabin.

Last, but not least, is the engine. Under the hood resides a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 that includes a Griffin aluminum radiator, headers, and an X-pipe dual exhaust system. The truck also has an independent front end suspension, adjustable coilovers, power steering, front disc brakes and a four-speed automatic transmission.
