Hyundai’s smallest EV yet, which hasn’t received an official name, is based on the 45 Concept unveiled last year in Frankfurt and is suitable for kids.

The styling of the exterior boasts the same ‘kinetic cube lamp’ signature design as the 45, along with the latter’s angular profile. The body rocks a Performance Blue color with orange accents, plus a central driving position for an improved driving experience.

Speaking of the body, it was built entirely out of wood, in order to maintain the “eco theme” of the project. There isn’t an officially rated driving range just yet, but the Korean brand says that the “driver’s laughter is believed to fuel the vehicle to travel further based on its Emotion Adaptive Vehicle Control (EAVC) technology”.

In terms of performance, the EV is powered by two DC motors that allow for a top speed of 7 km/h (4 mph), which is pretty slow, about the same speed as the average jogger. But that’s obviously on purpose, since you want parents to be able to catch up to their kids if they happen to drive recklessly or in the wrong direction.

The headlight and taillight graphics are pretty cool though, much more so than on many other similar Ride-On toys we’ve seen. We’d even include the BMW M8 GTE Ride-On and the McLaren Senna Ride-On EV in that category, although the latter would probably seem more appealing visually to just about any kid who’s ever seen a cartoon featuring race cars or pretty much anything that goes really fast.
