The Mercedes-AMG GT range is cool and all, especially in the new Black Series specification, but it cannot live up to the hype created by its bigger (and much more imposing) predecessor, the SLS AMG.
Produced between 2010 and 2014, the SLS AMG paid homage to the iconic 300 SL, bringing the gullwing doors into the 21st century and adding a thunderous V8 under that long hood.
The naturally aspirated 6.2-liter engine produced 563 HP (571 PS / 420 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque, rocketing the German supercar to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and up to 197 mph (317 km/h), which makes it competitive even by today’s standards.

Waiting for someone new to sign their name on the dotted line, this example left the factory in 2011 and presents itself in top-notch condition for the SilverstoneAuction’s online event that’s set to take place on November 13 and 14. Heck, with only 6,915 miles (11,129 km) on the clock, it probably still has some of that new car smell too.
Part of a private collection since 2017, this SLS AMG, which was originally shipped to South Africa and then brought to the UK after 2016, is finished in red on top of a black leather interior. It rides on the original double-spoke silver wheels and comes jammed with all sorts of features, from the infotainment system, satellite navigation, climate control and memory seats, to the bi-xenon headlamps, reversing camera and parking sensors.
It was last serviced in September, so its future owner will only have to take care of the paperwork before being able to enjoy it on the road.
