Mopar’s Jeep portfolio includes over 500 parts and accessories, and as of recently, it has grown to include the Trailer Brake Controller for the Gladiator.

Allowing owners to activate the electronic brakes on properly equipped trailers, it improves the stopping power on downhill grades and helps reduce the wear and tear of both the pickup truck and the trailer.

Depending on the load requirements, the amount of brake force can be customized via the round knob. Integrated into the instrument panel, it blends in with the vehicle’s design and can be ordered as a standalone option in the United States and Canada.

The system can also be retrofitted into the Gladiators that are currently on the road, and has an MSRP of $299. The Trailer Brake Controller is covered by Mopar’s 2-year/unlimited miles warranty from the date of purchase or up to the remainder of the Gladiator’s standard warranty of 3 years/36,000 miles (57,936 km).

“At Mopar, we continue to expand our comprehensive Jeep portfolio, which includes more than 500 factory-backed, quality-tested parts and accessories”, said the chief of Mopar Service, Parts and Customer Care, Mark Bosanac. “Our new Trailer Brake Controller improves Jeep Gladiator’s braking efficiency and maximizes safety when towing.”

In production since 2019, almost half a year after it was presented at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Gladiator is offered in seven specifications for the 2020 model year, starting with the Sport that carries an MSRP of $33,545.

The Sport S, Altitude and Overland start at $36,745, $40,340 and $40,395 respectively, while the Rubicon and Mojave are available from $43,875 each and the North Edition from $45,915.
