If a car manufacturer is looking to launch an enthusiast-oriented performance car, it’s crucially important that the company engages with the automotive community and fans of the brand to generate interest in the car. Nissan appears to be doing just that with the new Z Proto.
It’s been four weeks since the Nissan Z Proto was unveiled and it’s generated a lot of interest in the brand.
That’s important because Nissan is going through a tough time at the moment and needs a vehicle like the Z Proto to generate new interest in the brand and encourage people to actually start buying its vehicles again.

Last week, the car manufacturer brought its Z Proto to a car meetup in Tokyo. While the near-production prototype wasn’t showcased on the move and was instead on static display, it still managed to generate a huge amount of interest among Nissan enthusiasts at the event and it’s these people that Nissan needs to win over if it wants the new Z car to be a success.

Dozens of different Z cars from different eras attended the event. This included heaps of Fairlady 240Z, 260Z, and Fairlady 280ZX models, as well as slightly more modern cars such as the Nissan 300ZX, 350Z, and the outgoing 370Z.
Nissan has yet to officially confirm the Z Proto for production but we know it will indeed launch next year unless something inexplicable happens. It is expected to hit the market with the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine as the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400, complete with 400 HP and 350 lb-ft (474 Nm) of torque.
