Following the Dieselgate scandal, diesel-powered cars have become less popular in Europe, both with governments and consumers who have started shifting their interest towards petrol or electrified vehicles.

As a result, automakers had to reshuffle their lineups in order to stay on the competitive side of the market, so, many oil-burning models have been discontinued, especially in the United Kingdom, where the Renault Clio, Captur and Kadjar are understood to follow in their footsteps.

Citing a spokesperson, Autocar reports that the Kadjar is no longer offered with the 115 PS (113 HP / 85 kW) dCi, although the model is still listed on the official website. The Clio and Captur will reportedly lose their diesel engines too, which include the 85 PS (84 HP / 63 kW) dCi in the supermini and the 95 and 115 PS (94/113 HP / 70/85 kW) dCi in the subcompact crossover.

The British publication claims that the Megane hatchback and estate will remain the only diesel-powered cars on sale in the UK, with the 115 PS (113 HP / 85 kW) version of the 1.5-liter engine.

If you were wondering about the Koleos, well, you may want to forget about it, as production for the right-hand drive market reportedly ended a few months ago. Thus, the only ones on sale are probably found in dealer lots.

It is worth remind though that the mid-size SUV came only with diesel units, namely a 150 PS (148 HP / 110 kW) and a 190 PS (187 HP / 140 kW) dCi, both of them mated to a continuously variable transmission, in the Iconic and GT Line trim levels.
