While EV fans are waiting for Tesla to release its future models, namely the Roadster, the Semi and especially the Cybertruck, its current range, which consists of the Model 3, Model Y, Model X and Model S, is also going strong.
Each of these four models have played a significant role in increasing the popularity of electric vehicles while also making them more accessible to a greater proportion of car buyers. However, how do they compare to each other in a straight-line?

To find out, nextmove was able to line up a Model 3 Performance, a Model Y Performance, a Model S Raven and a Model X Raven for a drag race. While the race was held over a mere 160 meters (525 feet) rather than a quarter-mile, it does perfectly show how the four vehicles compare.
Off the line, the Model S Raven has a clear advantage over its siblings – hardly a surprise. Trailing the Model S by a couple of car lengths is the Model X Raven. While it cannot keep up with its sedan sibling, the fact that it is able to perform so well given its size and weight is very impressive. Finishing a car length behind the Model X was the Model 3 Performance, a car we reviewed and were very impressed by last year. The Model 3 edged ahead of the Model Y Performance by roughly half a car length.
Although these results are not at all surprising, it is interesting to see how the four Teslas compare. Here’s hoping that in a couple of years, the Cybertruck and Roadster will join them for another drag race.
