Following the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series media drive event hosted recently at the Lausitzring in Germany, journalists are giving their feedback on the brand’s most expensive product currently in production.
So, how fast is the latest power beast from Affalterbach? Depending on whom you ask, the answer may vary, but there is only one official spec sheet.

According to the numbers released by Mercedes-AMG, the supercar is capable of doing the zero to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in just 3.2 seconds. It needs less than 9 seconds to hit 124 mph (200 km/h) from a standstill, and if you keep your right foot planted for long enough, you will see 202 mph (325 km/h) on the speedometer.
Powering the latest Black Series model is none other than the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8. The engine, which sits at the heart of most high-end AMGs these days (and not only), has been tuned by the company’s engineers to produce 720 HP (730 PS / 537 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. This makes it the most powerful Merc currently on sale, topping the GT R Pro, which was the previous king of the GT lineup, by 143 HP (145 PS / 107 kW) and 74 lb-ft (100 Nm).
Now, besides highlighting the real-world performance of the new GT Black Series, the video that you are about to watch also reveals the soundtrack produced by the V8. So, do you think it sounds like an extreme, track-focused champ that starts at £335,000 ($434,100) in the UK and possibly over $400,000 in the States (Mercedes has yet to put a price tag on it)?
