The world was eagerly awaiting the GMC Hummer EV for quite some time and last week, it was finally presented to the world. While it has yet to hit the market, a number of YouTubers have had the opportunity to check it out in person, and the latest to do so is Speed Phenom.
During this clip, we’re provided with an in-depth tour of both the exterior and interior of the innovative all-electric pickup truck that promises some pretty spectacular off-roading abilities.

Much of this clip focuses on the cabin of the Hummer EV, which features a number of intriguing lunar-inspired Easter Eggs, such as the footprint that Neil Armstrong left on the moon in the footrest. We’re also provided with our first opportunity to see the vehicle on the move, even though it is simply driven in and out of a hangar at slow speeds. Nevertheless, there’s no doubt that the Hummer EV will have an undeniable presence on the road.
The prototype featured is representative of the Hummer EV Edition 1 variant. This model will be the first to hit the market, with production tipped to start in the fall of 2021. Prices for the Edition 1 start at $112,595 and all examples will feature the same interior and exterior finish as this prototype, including the Ghost White paint.
Powering the Edition 1 are three electric motors that produce 1,000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft (15,592 Nm) of torque. GM hasn’t specified the capacity of the battery pack, but says the truck will have a range exceeding 350 miles (563 km). It will also be able to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in three seconds when using the special ‘Watts to Freedom’ launch control feature.
